A Killer Sweet Spot: Working Between Business and Technology

Leveraging skills built through my design and development experience, I pivoted to building high-performing teams through Agile and frameworks under the Umbrella (hit a google search for more on the Agile Umbrella). I launch application development and development operation teams (DevOps). Teams are structured with testers, developers, network engineers, business analysts, system engineers: whomever it takes to deliver the product.

Synchronous in operation, these teams deliver high rate of predictability. Businesses count on teams to drive their initiatives forward. I work as a leader who keeps teams focused on efficient product delivery.

Coaching, inside and outside of teams, is key to building trust among an organization. Leaning on business partners to provide insight into their needs, I coach individual and lead effort to manage product backlogs for team enablement. This grants the teams the freedom to focus on delivering their product increment while I focus on framing the big picture of implementation in the near- and long-term.

When approaching complex implementations, it is crucial to have backing from your business partners. This could be leadership within your organization and external as a client. Navigating E- and C-suite-level conversations takes a different touch than team discussions. Presentation, relationship management, and salesmanship play a role in navigating these conversation.

I take a transparency-based approach, making my intentions known so the partnerships I grow are based on wholistic truth. Although agendas are part of a business, true transparency complementing inspecting and adapting implementation progress feeds healthy relationships and trust. These are a couple of the high-value qualities I find productive when conducting business.
